The Out-takes

You know the drill, the kids have got their new Christmas party clothes on and you really want a photo of them looking gorgeous, and clean, before they are covered in sweat, snot and chocolate and looking as though they’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards.

And yet even with a little help from your sister, it’s still just so hard to summon a smile.

A variety of pleading and bribery still fails to raise a smile….

“Try and look as though you like eachother!”, I say.

“A little less headlock?”….

“How about let’s see who can say cheese the loudest?”…..

“Slightly less cheese??”

“Try to think of something funny!” I told them, clutching at straws now.

“Megan poo poo pants!!” Eva blurted out, much to their amusement, and to mine as I finally got the perfect shot of my beautiful girls.

  1. Fabulous!!! And really made me laugh as one of my favourite, favourite photos of my two boys was taken after I shouted the word “willies” to get them to smile!!! 😉 I’m such class!

    1. Aww I love seeing them all in the Christmas party clothes! It’s Christmas jumper day tomorrow too so we shall all be rocking our finest knitwear! Hopefully get a nice photo of that! 😂

  2. oh they are all the ‘perfect’ shot aren’t they, I love the ‘say cheese’ one so funny, they are adorable! I remember one year when April was only 8 months and Aspen was 3, I tried so hard to get the ‘perfect’ pic and it wasn’t working, we gave up and went back inside, it was just a hot, uncomfortable day (as we are in Australia). I went through the pics later and found a sweet one, even though they weren’t looking at the camera and smiling widely, they were looking lovingly at each other and I realised I had captured a ‘real’ moment and that was great. Have a great Christmas xx

    1. Aww I love those photos. Many of my favourite photos are the ones where I have captured a real moment or the essence of their personality – be that sticking their tongue out or frowning at the camera! It’s very hard with the four of them to ever get a photo where everyone is smiling, I’ve just about given up!! Xxx

  3. Your girls are simply gorgeous. I love all the pictures here, the out take ones are fabulous, especially the first one. I love that it takes an insult of poo poo head to make both of them smile.
Thanks for sharing, I hope you have all had a fabulous christmas, Tracey xx #abitofeverything
