An interview with Meggy, aged two years and ten months.

After the success of my interview with Eva, I decided that it might be interesting to ask Megan the same questions and see how their answers differ. Despite there being just fifteen months between my girls it is apparent that their understanding and opinions are very different and yet their excitement at taking part was very much the same!

1. How are you feeling today?

I’m feeling happy.

(If this is happy then God help us when you’re sad!!)

2. What makes you happy?

Cuddling Mummy.

(Oh now I feel really mean for mocking your happiness!)

3. What makes you sad?

When I don’t have any juice.

(This makes me sad too, especially when it’s three in the morning…)

4. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to put on lipstick.

(Megan clearly hasn’t yet discovered the meaning of ambition!!)

5. What is your favourite food?

Sandwiches.

(This is news to me, she never eats them!)

6. Describe Mummy?

A hippopotamus.

(WOW. This makes me feel soooooooo good!!)

7. Describe Daddy?

He is big.

(And yet clearly not as big as a hippopotamus!)

8. Who created the world?

Me, Meggy!

(She looks very pleased with herself on this one, I don’t have the heart to tell her otherwise.)

9. What is the queens job?

Goes in a castle .

(Correct! Although I’m pretty sure it’s a little more complicated. than that..)

10. Who is the prime minister?

An animal?

(Some may agree….?!)

11. What did you dream last night?

About fairies.

(Eva told her to say this!)

12. What would you like to do tomorrow?

Play hungry hippos.

(I HATE this game, it always ends in tears when one of the girls gets the bonus yellow ball before the other!!)

13. Where in the world do you want to go?

To the park.

(Consider it done!)

14. Why do we celebrate Christmas?

To get Baby Annabell.

(This is Megans favourite doll in the whole world which Father Christmas did indeed bring last year!)

15. Where does the tooth fairy live?

In a door.

(The girls have a little fairy door that we tell them fairies come out of, clearly she believes it!)

16. What is your favourite animal?

Giraffe.

(She tells me that they have a long neck right up to the sky!)

17. Who is your best friend?

Eva.

(I love that both of my girls said each other!)

18. What makes you laugh?

Me. I’m funny.

(She’s not wrong!!)

19. Are you going to get married?

Yes! To Eva!

(It would save on having to pay out for TWO weddings!)

20. Tell me a secret?

I want a green balloon.

(She has just noticed a packet of balloons stashed away in my desk drawer.)

21. Where do babies come from?

At home in a cot.

(Eva said the same thing! So funny how their minds work!)

22. What do you like to watch on television?

Melody.

(One of the less annoying Cbeebies programmes that they watch!)

23. How much money do you have?

One, two , three, four, five.

24. What do you do that is naughty?

Cry for my juice.

(And yet this still happens EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!!)

25. Describe yourself?

Beautiful.

(Oh yes you are!)

26. What is the best job in the world?

Having a balloon.

(I am fast losing her concentration as she stares at the drawer expectantly…)

27. Where does Father Christmas live?

I cant say it, I want an orange balloon.

(I tell her she can have a balloon in just a few more questions!)

28. Who is Jesus?

Lewis’s friend.

(As random as some baby names are these days, he has yet to find a friend called Jesus!)

29. What is your favourite vegetable?

Carrot.

(Feeling proud that she knew what a vegetable is, even if she refuses to eat them!)

30. Are you bored of this quiz now?

Yes. I want a green balloon.

So there you have it an interview with Megan, who is now sat here spitting and crying into her balloon yet is so fiercely stubborn that she won’t let me blow it up for her!

I have loved reading all of your interviews that you have shared with me so far. If any of you would still like to take part please feel free to message me and I will send you over a copy of the questions. Looking forward to hearing what your little ones have to say!!

  1. 😂😂😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A hippo – you poor thing!!
That was marvelous and I can’t think of a more brilliant photo of a kid I’ve seen this week. She’s wonderful (and very cute!)
Made me laugh whilst I put the toddler to bed!xx

      1. You’re welcome!!
She’s brill. Feisty girls are the best – not when you’re their mum, granted, but for an outsider they’re great fun!
I’m off to find you on the book of face if you’re on there…?x

    1. Aww my youngest is doing the whole repeating the end of sentence trick at the minute too! Either that or just shouting NO! Wouldn’t make for an interesting read that’s for sure! xx

  7. Oh this made me laugh! I’ll have to do it with my boy when he’s a bit older and prepared to talk about more than tractors. Her face in that picture is a classic, good job catching it! #TheBabyFormula

  11. OMG, that face😍 Such a cute interview, apart from the hippo comment…she may need some coaching there. Her insightful answer on a PM makes me think she may have a future in politics😉 Great interview! #fabfridaypost

  12. Love this. She must have Hashish get hippos on her mind when she described you as one so I wouldn’t take it personally! Lol

It so sweet your girls both said each other when you asked about best friends too!!

I asked my oldest so these questions last week and being older (5) his answers were much more sensible compared to M’s.

You should turn this into a guest post series!! I love reading what kids have to say!

Thank you for linking up to #KCACOLS I hope to see you back again on Sunday xx

  13. These questions are great, thank you so much for letting me use them with my kiddies too! I loved this interview it was so cute! Your girls are so adorable and you do not look like a hippo (which I am sure you know). I love that she said her sister was who she would marry, it s clear they ahed a great bond. My girls are 11 and 8 and still best friends they have the best fun together, hopefully bond for life. Much love #mg

  14. Their answers are priceless and comical at the same time. I ask my boys 10 questions every Thursday (they’re 8 and 4). They never cease to amaze and humor me. I may have to “borrow” your questions for next week 🙂
