An interview with Eva, aged 3 years, 51 weeks.

I saw this interview on Facebook recently, the idea being to ask your child the questions and simply share their answers. Eva was very excited when I told her that I had a special job for her to do and insisted that she sit in the “Spinny chair” as if in our own little Mastermind gameshow. So here are her answers, aged three years and 51 weeks old.

1. How are you feeling today?

Great! Why are you asking?

*She is eyeing me suspiciously*

2. What makes you happy?

When Nana and Grandad come back from holiday.

(This makes Mummy happy also!)

3. What makes you sad?

When Nana and Grandad go on holiday.

(My parents are going to feel sooooooo bad when I tell them about this!)

4. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a cake maker with you.

(She is yet to realise that using a Peppa Pig packet mix does not qualify me as a ‘cake maker’…)

5. What is your favourite food?

Macaroni cheese. Can we have it for tea?

(No! Not again!!)

6. Describe Mummy?

You have a mouth. You have black and yellow hair.

(Black and yellow? Thank God I’m booked in at the hairdressers this week!!)

7. Describe Daddy?

He has some hair and I like him. Actually I just really want to make some cakes right now.

(There’s still twenty three questions to go….)

8. Who created the world?

Maybe some men?

(Not feeling the girl power just yet then!)

9. What is the queens job?

To put all her stuff away in her bedroom. To eat cakes and wear nice dresses? Unless she has magic powers, then she freezes your heart and you’ll be dead!!!

*Attempts to freeze my heart with her super freeze power motion!*

10. Who is the prime minister?

I don’t even know what that is.

(Me neither Eva!)

11. What did you dream last night?

About how much I miss my dummy.

(This made me so sad, I had hoped she would have forgotten about it by now!)

12. What would you like to do tomorrow?

Make some cakes.

13. Where in the world do you want to go?

On holiday again in the wooden house with Nanna and Grandad.

(I think she means Centerparcs!)

14. Why do we celebrate Christmas?

Because Father Christmas wants to give me presents.

15. Where does the tooth fairy live?

In her tooth fairy land. Maybe in a mushroom house.

(I think she means a toadstool…!!)

16. What is your favourite animal?

I like horses! Can I have one for my birthday?

(Mummy is allergic, no chance!!)

17. Who is your best friend?

Meggy of course! Then you, then daddy.

(Ha! In your face Daddy!!)

18. What makes you laugh?

When you tickle me and when we eat cakes!

19. Are you going to get married?

I don’t know, probably to a boy though I would think?

(Best get saving!)

20. Tell me a secret?

Zebras poo.

21. Where do babies come from?

In their cots.

(This made me laugh, I suppose in her mind they do always appear in a cot!)

22. What do you like to watch on television?

Cinderella.

(Don’t I know it! Ten times a day!)

23. How much money do you have?

One hundred million money!

(If only….)

24. What do you do that is naughty?

Get up on the chair and put all the crayons all over the floor.

(I can think of a hundred things more naughty than this!)

25. Describe yourself?

I have long hair like Rapunzel. I am beautiful like a princess.

(Clearly not one for being modest!)

26. What is the best job in the world?

Making cakes and then eating them.

(There seems to be a recurring theme here…)

27. Where does Father Christmas live?

In his grotty.

(To be fair, the last one we visited was way more grotty than grotto!!)

28. Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus? I don’t know! Is he in Frozen?

(Clearly she has a lot to learn about the Bible!)

29. What is your favourite vegetable?

I don’t like vegetables. I do like broccoli though.

30. Are you bored of this quiz now?

Yes, is that everything? Can we go and make cakes now??

So there you have it, the world according to Eva. If you would like to link up in an interview with your own child then please comment below and I can send you over a copy of the questions, I would love to hear what your little ones have to say!

  1. I love this, very very sweet!!
I did one similar with my son and one of the questions was “What is mummy good at?” and he answered “telling Buddy (our dog) off” Whoops!
To be fair to me, he was a puppy at the time and he was very cheeky!
I am definitely going to try this one with my boys.

  2. This is brilliant, I can’t wait to do something like this with my son when he’s a bit older…the answers are very funny. Was it Eva that you wrote your fabulous dummy post about? If so, how did you get her to say goodbye to it in the end? #KCACOLS

    1. Yes it was Eva and the dummy! I was just going to let her have it regardless but we visited the dentist the week before last who told us that she was really beginning to cause serious damage to her teeth (an open bite) and I needed to be tough. It broke my heart but she very bravely wrote a letter to the dummy fairy asking for some maltesers in return and the next morning received a huge box of them. We had tears every night for a week about it, she sobbed and sobbed and begged for it back, but she has settled much better and we seem to finally have cracked it. I still feel sad, especially when she says things like this about missing it, but you only get one set of teeth I suppose! Thanks for reading! xx

  3. Thanks for sharing. These are excellent. Will try this with my eldest (3 years). He’s just started asking us questions about what we like, how was our day etc it’s really fun to see them develop their communication and people skills. #bigpinklink

  6. This is just too many kinds of cute!! And I’m sure she must be the secret twin to my 3 year old…! He is always sad when my parents go on holiday, and delighted when they are home! He also loves any type of cake making, and is a special fan of the Peppa Pig cake mix! He also loves nothing more than a trip to center parcs, as long as my parents are there! I’d love to try this with him! I really enjoyed reading it, thank you so much for sharing with us, and for linking to the very first #bigpinklink!

  12. That is lovely – your girl clearly likes everything ‘cakes’. 🙂
I love these questions and would’ve loved to do it when my kids were little. Unfortunately they’re now 11 and 6, I fear their answers wouldn’t be quite so cute! 😉

  13. Thanks for the blog post idea! Love her answers. Children are so honest and innocent. It makes me jealous that their little minds haven’t been corrupted by the true rashness of life just quite yet. Simplicity. Thanks for linking with #momsterslink.
